Dec 23, 2022

In the absence of any actual news to discuss this week, it's a good time for Chad Dotson and Chris Garber to do a deep dive into the 1990 World Series champion Cincinnati Reds. Day by day, game by game, Chad and Chris talk about their personal memories from that season and what it was like to love a team who went wire to wire.

(This episode was originally published as an exclusive episode for The Riverfront Family at Patreon.)

As we celebrate the life and career of Reds Hall of Famer Tom Browning, who passed away this week at age 62, Chad has some thoughts about Browning's legacy. Then we dive into The Riverfront archives; all the way back in July of 2009, Browning joined us to talk about his career and much more. Rest in peace, Mr. Perfect.

Dec 16, 2022

Chad and Nate got together again to discuss everything happening around the Cincinnati Reds, using quotes from popular Christmas movies. It's that time of year! We discussed Ken Rosenthal's frank statements about Reds ownership, Johnny Cueto's potential return, and whether 2023 will be the last time we'll see Joey Votto in a Reds uniform.

Also: electric sex?

Dec 9, 2022

Chad Dotson and Bill Lack got together to discuss everything happening around the Cincinnati Reds, including Kyle Farmer's comments this week. Do players actually love playing in Cincinnati? And if so, why? There are plenty of great reasons, as it turns out. We also talked about Johnny Cueto's potential return to town and the possibility of Andrew McCutchen joining the Reds. Finally: Nick Krall's latest comments, the Blake Sabol saga, and the first MLB Draft lottery...all of which are so, so Redsy.

Dec 2, 2022

Chad and Nate got together again to discuss the week that was for the Cincinnati Reds. RedsFest is upon us, and we have two new inductees into the Reds Hall of Fame. The Reds sign a backup catcher who is perfectly cromulent, and we say goodbye to an old friend who is headed to Japan.

Big week, right? Well, the biggest news of the week was Joey Votto's debut on the chess tournament circuit. Enjoy!

Chad was joined this week by Justin Rocke, play-by-play broadcaster & Media Relations Coordinator for Cincinnati's high-A minor league affiliate in Daytona. Beginning with his time in Greeneville, with the Reds' rookie league club to his current tenure with the Tortugas, Justin has seen many of the Reds and future Reds that we discuss all the time. Justin has some thoughts about Jonathan India, Alexis Diaz, and the legend that is Elly de la Cruz.

Also, a requiem for Kyle Farmer. Enjoy!

Nov 18, 2022

Chad and Nate got together again to discuss everything you need to know in the world of the Cincinnati Reds. The club made some 40-man roster moves, were involved in trade discussions (maybe?), and said good-bye to some old friends. Plus, we debated the return of Pete Rose and Yasiel Puig to the headlines!

Nov 11, 2022

Chad and Nate got together again for another fun one in celebration of No Shave November, or something. The Cincinnati Reds have traded for a new player and, hey, he's not too bad! We also said good-bye to five future obscure former Reds this week, including our good friend Mike Minor.

We also ruminated on Nick Krall's predictably inane comments at the GM Meetings in Las Vegas, our feelings about Dusty Baker winning a World Series, and...the Olentangy Liberty football playoff game at Dublin Jerome?

Chad was joined again this week by Chris Garber for a special episode: the Obscure Former Reds Draft. Round by round, pick by pick, we drafted the ultimate teams of obscure former Cincinnati Reds. This was fun!

Yes, the 2022 Cincinnati Reds were STUPID. How is it possible that we had so much fun this season? Chad and Nate were joined once again by The Podfather, Bill Lack, to discuss the World Series, the Reds Hall of Fame election (go Bronson Arroyo!), which players should be elected next, and which 2022 Reds we still remember. Raynel Espinal?

Chad Dotson was joined this week by Joel Luckhaupt, who has been a frequent (and entertaining) guest over the years. Joel is the statistician for the Cincinnati Reds television broadcasts and author of two brilliant books about the ol' Redlegs. We talked about the Jesse Winker non-troversy, Joey Votto's brilliance in the broadcast booth, and the reasons that Reds fans should have some hope. (Yes, you have permission to be hopeful.)

It's an all Viewer Mail episode of The World's Most Dangerous Podcast. We talked about the Cincinnati Reds from every different angle, but that's not all! Questions ranged from various levels of fandom to "rooting for laundry" to nonsense such as sock drawers, Ohio State football, and Weird Al Yankovic. Yes, this one got off the rails VERY quickly.

The season is over and the Cincinnati Reds have finished with 100 losses. Yet, somehow, the final week of the campaign was as much fun as we've had in months! Chad and Nate break down the season, check in on Tattoo Watch 2002, and revisit the gang's pre-season predictions.

Chad and Nate are back from a wild weekend in Austin, Texas, and now it's time for the apologies. We talk about the Cincinnati Reds stumbling across the finish line, and an alert Viewer may have caught Chad making a bet that he forgot about!

Plus, we talk about the path for a good Reds team sooner rather than later.

Well, week 2 wasn't a pleasant one for Cincinnati Bengals fans. Nate and Joe got together to discuss what went wrong against the Cowboys, where to place the blame, and answered the question no one seems to want to ask: Is it time to worry about Joe Burrow?

Chad and Nate discuss the week for the Cincinnati Reds and decide that Pittsburgh is the armpit of America. I mean, seriously. Screw those guys.

We also discussed the new rule changes announced by MLB, Nick Lodolo's ascension to "ace" status, the return of RedsFest...and, in honor of episode #444, we announce the best player in Reds history ever to wear uniform number 44. Also, Pittsburgh is the worst.

Nate and Joe get together to discuss the latest in Bengals land! The gang recaps week one, give an update on Tee Higgins' injury outlook, and look ahead to the upcoming matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. And of course they had to touch on Ja'Marr Chase's love letter to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Joe and Chad got together after the Bengals opening week game for some quick reactions to the 23-20 overtime loss to the Steelers. We discuss the good (the defense, Ja'Marr Chase), the bad (nearly everything else), and most importantly: why Bengals fans should be disappointed, but not worried. Yet.

Sep 9, 2022

It was a fun week! We need to cherish these. Chad and Nate break it all down, including The Legend of Spencer Steer. Steer had a dream debut with the Cincinnati Reds this week...and he was probably only the second-best debut story of the week. We also pay tribute to The Colin Moran Era. Over too soon.

The gang also answers the biggest question in Cincinnati sports right now: "Will we ever again experience love for a Reds squad like is permeating throughout Bengaldom right now?"

Sep 2, 2022

What is this week's episode of The Riverfront about? Well, it's Chad Dotson and Chris Garber, so it's pretty much just shenanigans, antics, and nonsense. Nate Dotson joined us eventually and it got even sillier.

We discussed Joey Votto's next career, our expectations for Jonathan India, and the best player who is not currently enshrined in the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame. Plus: When was the last great Reds team?

Chad and Nate are back! This week, we discuss which of the current Reds will be on the next good Cincinnati Reds team, what to make of Jake Fraley's continued hot hitting, and we debate the future of Aristides Aquino.

Plus, Joe Farfsing joins us for The Bingles Update, with the latest on the fracas between the Bengals and the Rams, last year's Super Bowl participants.

Cam Miller is a filmmaker whose latest film, "Riverfront Remembered" debuts on September 9 at the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum. It's a loving portrait of Riverfront Stadium, that beauty down by the river that enchanted so many of us over the years, and was the site of some great Reds baseball.

Cam joined Chad for a discussion about the film, its legacy in Cincinnati history, and about the nostalgia for the stadium that still exists. You can see the trailer for "Riverfront Remembered" on YouTube now.
